It’s been reported that the next generation Holden Commodore Supercar, the ZB, could take to the track as early as today for it’s initial shakedown.

The latest Triple Eight built car features the new for 2018 ZB Commodore bodywork in preparation of series of Supercars homologation tests for the new Holden.

Triple Eight are expected to complete a private 60km shakedown before they take to Queensland Raceway later this week for the first of three Accredited Manufacturer Test days. These are additional test days awarded to manufacturers for the development of new models.

The development for the new car is in addition to the development work Triple Eight have been completing with Holden on the new V6 Twin Turbo Engine, which is expected to make select wildcard appearances next year.

Triple Eight manager, Mark Dutton, told Supercars.com that he was happy with the teams progress of the ZB.

“I’m super proud of the whole team,” said Dutton.

“There’s still work to do, but I don’t think there’s been a team better prepared than we are for the aero testing.

“That doesn’t mean we’ll hit the [downforce and drag] numbers, but the preparation, work and attention to detail has been phenomenal.

“We’ve raised the game of preparation. Time will tell if we nail it, but it’s not a small ask to get to where we have.”
