SANDOWN 500 2017 RETRO LIVERIES
Dozens of retro and retro inspired liveries have been released in the lead up to the Sandown 500 this weekend.
To make sure you haven’t missed any, we’ve compile them all into this one handy reference.
Red Bull Holden Racing Team
Both Red Bull Holden Commodores will pay tribute to the original Holden Dealer Team with it’s retro inspired liveries.
Caltex Team Vortex
Team Vortex have used elements of Colin Bond’s iconic Caltex liveries for their design.
Tekno Autosports
At this stage Tekno Autosports have not released a retro livery for the Sandown 500 as yet.
Prodrive Racing Australia
Prodrive will only one retro inspired livery this year with Chaz Mostert’s Supercheap Auto Ford Falcon paying tribute to John Briggs’ 1999 car.
Mobil 1 HSV Racing
Mobile 1 HSV Racing will run two retro inspired liveries paying tribute to the teams history. James Courtney and Jack Perkins will celebrate the tenth anniversary of HSV Dealer Teams Championship win. While Scott Pye and Warren Luff will celebrate the 24 year association between Walkinshaw and Mobil 1.
Brad Jones Racing
Brad Jones Racing have paid tribute to Supercars Hall of Famer Norm Beechey with all three of it’s cars for the Sandown 500.
Team 18
Team 18 will turn some heads with their 50/50 split Preston Hire livery.
Nissan Motorsport
Nissan Motorsport unveiled three seperate throwbacks to Nissan’s international motorsport heritage across it’s four cars.
- Kelly Brothers American Racing Tribute
- Iconic Calsonic livery
- 50th anniversary of speed record holder
Garry Rogers Motorsport
Garry Rogers Motorsport will pay tribute to it’s drivers histories (Garth Tander and James Moffat) with it’s two retro liveries for the Sandown 500.
DJR Team Penske
DJR Team Penske will pay homage to Dick Johnson’s 50 year association with Shell.
Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport
Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport step back in time with it’s two retro inspired liveries for the Sandown 500.
Erebus Motorsport
Erebus Motorsport revealed a 90’s NASCAR inspired livery for Dale Wood and Chris Pither and a 1976 Brock tribute livery for David Reynolds and Luke Youlden.
