Mobil 1 HSV Racing has unveiled the livery that Scott Pye and Warren Luff will use for this weekends Supercars “Retro Round” at the Sandown 500.

The eye-catching blue and white Mobil 1 colour scheme is inspired by the 1994 Tom Walkinshaw Racing/Holden Racing Team livery; one of the most renowned designs in the sport’s history.

1994 was the beginning of the current partnership between Tom Walkinshaw Racing and Mobil, a relationship that continues as strong as ever 24-years later.

In that year, the legend Peter Brock signed on with the Holden Racing Team, racing alongside Thomas Mezera in the Holden VP Commodore.

Brock’s win in Round 7 at Eastern Creek Raceway (now Sydney Motorsport Park) was the Team’s first ever Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC) round win. He went on to finish the 1994 ATCC in third, with Mezera in ninth.

The car will also be running the number 02 instead of 2 for Retro Round, paying homage to the iconic 05 Peter Brock number which is synonymous with Australian motorsport.

This retro livery represents a huge part of our Australian motorsport history, one the fans of this team, and of the sport, can instantly connect to.

General Manager of Motorsport, Mathew Nilsson, is delighted to be able to honour the Team’s 24-year history with Mobil with such a recognisable colour scheme.

“To have the blue and white of Mobil 1 on the car is a real privilege. It’s something everyone in the team is really excited about, and something we hope all the fans will love,” Nilsson said.

“When you think about celebrating the history of Walkinshaw Racing for Retro Round, the blue and white Mobil 1 branded Commodore with Brocky at the wheel is one of the first things that springs to mind.”

If you missed it Mobil 1 HSV Racing launch the livery for James Courtney and Jack Perkins last night.
