Ferrari have confirmed they’ll retain the services of Kimi Raikkonen for 2018.

The short statement released on their website, confirmed that Raikkonen would continue with the team for at least the 2018 season.

Ferrari N.V. (NYSE/MTA: RACE) announces that Scuderia Ferrari has renewed its technical and racing agreement with Kimi Raikkonen. The Finnish driver will therefore race for the Maranello team in the 2018 Formula One World Championship.

Ferrari’s driver line up for next year had been open to plenty of speculation recently, with both drivers off contact at the conclusion of the season. With many people doubting that Raikkonen would continue with the team for another year.

This announcement is seen as a precursor to a new deal with Sebastian Vettel, who is expected to remain with Ferrari next year.
