This Month’s Honeywell Garrett Jamboree, presented by Tuners Edge and Link ECU, will host four International drag racing stars from Puerto Rico and to celebrate, a special Open Night will be held to officially welcome them and their crews.

The Open Night will be hosted on Monday, August 21 from 6pm by Jamboree Tour Naming Rights Partner, Oceania College of Technology with race fans invited to attend. The official Jamboree event will be held at Willowbank Raceway across August 26-27.

Each of the four Puerto Rican team will attend the Open Night along with their fast-paced machines: the Mech-Tech 2JZ-powered Scion, the third quickest import car in the world; the Loquito Killer 20B-powered Mazda RX8, which is the second quickest 20B Rotary in the world; the El Humilde 2JZ-powered Toyota Corolla AE86, the world’s Fastest 3/4 Chassis Car; and the Rafaelito Racing 13B-powered Mazda RX8 – the world’s quickest 13B Rotary-engine vehicle.

These impressive drag racing cars will be driven by Isaias Rojas, Edwin Burgos, Jorge Juarbe and Luis Rivera respectively.

Jamboree Directors, Collin Willshire and Ray Box, said the Open Night would provide the perfect preamble to two big days of racing at what is expected to be an awesome Jamboree 2017.

“Having four of Puerto Rico’s fastest drag racers coming all the way to Australia for the Jamboree with the support of Oceania College of Technology is something we are very excited about,” Box said.

“The world-beating performances of these four teams is well known and respected, and I know our Australian competitors can’t wait to go up against them when we get down to racing.

“Before we do, we are looking forward to officially welcoming their tour ahead of the event with this special Open Night at Oceania College of Technology. We really can’t thank the College enough for their support of our event as the naming rights sponsor of the Puerto Rican team’s tour – we look forward to a great night.”

Oceania College of Technology Chief Executive Officer, Saurav Singh, said he was pleased to be able to support an event such as Jamboree.

The Open Night will take place at the Oceania Training College, 110 Beatty Rd, Archerfield in Queensland from 6-10pm. In welcoming the Puerto Ricans there will be an official ribbon cutting, as well as speeches by attending teams and autograph signings.
