Dunlop Super2 race winner Anton De Pasquale will join the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series field at Queensland Raceway.

Driving his car from last year’s Super2 campaign, De Pasquale will be back behind the wheel of his Paul Morris Motorsport prepared Ford FG Falcon in order to gain valuable track time between Super2 rounds. At this stage, it’s only expected to be a one off appearance for De Pasquale in the series.

The weekend will also be a chance for Paul Morris Motorsport to work with a new sponsor, with Jersey Mike’s Subs backing the team for the event.

“Anton has been doing a solid job in the Dunlop Series, but you can never have enough seat time,” said Morris.

“We are delighted that we have the support of John Mackay and Jersey Mike’s Subs, who have made this possible.”

Jersey Mike’s Subs General Manager, John Mackay, will enthusiastically monitor the team over the weekend, who are new to the Australian market.

“This is a toe-in-the-water exercise for Jersey Mike’s Subs at this stage of our development, but if we were going to do something it made sense to do it at Queensland Raceway which is the ‘local’ track for all our stores,” said Mackay.

“I think the car looks great and we know that Paul and his team will do a solid job preparing it.

“We are happy to have Anton (de Pasquale) representing us out on track. He is talented young guy and will successfully put the Jersey Mike’s Subs brand in front of a growing customer base.”

Meanwhile, another young driver will also be back in the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series for the weekend.

Toyota 86 Series regular Aaron Seton, who made a limited appearance at the at the opening round at Winton Raceway after a collision during his first race, will be back behind the wheel Rod Dawson’s Ford BF Falcon for the Queensland Raceway round.

“Going into Winton we hadn’t done any laps around there, so it was a bit challenging with practice being in the wet and then qualifying in the dry.” said Seton.

“But with QR we have done a few laps around there so I’m really looking forward to see how we go.”

Again, at this stage it’s only likely to be a one off appearance for Seton at this stage. With focus on his Toyota 86 Series campaign.

The news of these new additions to the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series as part of the support program for the Supercars round follows the announcement of Nandi Kiss joining the series.
