THE CAMS Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships return to Winton Motor Raceway at Benalla this weekend, June 17-18 following a ten-year absence.

As with 2016 the Victorian State Race Series Inc. which has been the manager of this fantastically successful State Championship for over 20 years, the Series will again be the promoter, bring with it a very experienced group of Officials and all bar one of the usual fantastic Championship Categories.

The Series brings to Northern Victoria all the usual state categories usually seen at Phillip Island and Sandown apart from one.

On this occasion the program includes Improved Production, Formula Fords, Formula Vee, MGs, Sports Cars, Porsche 944 and Saloon Cars. There will be a huge field of over 40 Hyundai Excels while Sports Sedans will have an influx of interstate heavyweights, chasing the national title.

Only the Historic Touring Cars have elected to miss this round due to the closeness to their recent Autumn Historic Meeting at the northern rural Victorian circuit.

Over the weekend there will be over 200 cars racing, beginning with qualifying from 8.30am on Saturday followed by races through to late afternoon before a full day’s racing on Sunday.

Adult weekend passes are $30 each with kids under 16 years admitted free. Viewing is open at all the usual areas, many of which are accessible and to view from spectators’ cars. Admission to the paddock and garage areas is inclusive and free, and daily admission is also available.

This meeting marks halfway in the 2017 Victorian Championships with the next round on July 22-23 at Sandown, and the fifth and final round at Phillip Island on September 30-October 1.

We’ll have an update with the results from the CAMS Victorian State Circuit Racing Championships after the weekend. Make sure you follow Auto Action on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for those updates.
