The Australian GT Trophy Series heads to Winton Motor Raceway this weekend for Round 2 of the 2017 season.

Headlining the third round of the Shannons Nationals at Winton, the Australian GT Trophy Series will be sporting an 18 car field with brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi and Porsche.

Leading the charge, will be the Valvoline Jamec Pem Racing Audi R8 of Steve McLaughlan, who won both races at the previous round at Sandown Raceway. Fellow Audi drivers, Rod Salmon (Skwirk Online Education) and Rob Smith (Southern Cross Developments), will also be in contention after their own performances earn them second and fourth respectively.

Sitting third in the points is Australian GT stalwart Jan Jinadasa, who recorded a career-best finish at Sandown Park with an exceptional second place in Race 1. Jinadasa will be looking to continue that form in his JJA Consulting Lamborghini Gallardo this weekend at Winton.

Set to make his debut in the category, Australian GT Championship regular Mark Griffith will trade his usual Mercedes AMG for Ferrari 458 Challenge for this event. While Xavier West (Malibu Boats) will make his first Australian GT start since Phillip Island 2015 behind the wheel of a Porsche 997 Cup Car.

The Australian GT Trophy series will have a single 40 qualifying session on Saturday, followed by two 50 minute races on Sunday.
