Garry Rogers Motorsport has released a special indigenous livery to highlight their sponsor, The Wilson Group, ongoing commitment to indigenous reconciliation.

The striking new livery was unveiled today to coincide with National Reconciliation Week 2017 (27 May to 3 June) and will be run on both Garry Rogers Motorsport Commodores at the next Supercars round in Darwin, as well as Townsville and Queensland Raceway.

The Wilson Group has formally committed to supporting reconciliation with indigenous Australians with the launch of its Reconciliation Action Plan in March. The Wilson RAP is focused on reconciliation through sustainable job opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and a commitment to creating safe, inclusive and respectful workplaces.

The new livery is based on an artwork painted by indigenous artist Hazel Cowburn that was commissioned by Wilson for the launch of its Reconciliation Action Plan. It depicts an aerial view of the land and sea and includes journey lines, meeting places and spirit guides which tell the story of the journey of reconciliation.

GRM’s team uniforms will also change to match the artwork, and there will be a special edition limited run of supporter merchandise also available to the public.

Wilson Australasia Group CEO, John McMellan said Wilson had an important role to play in making a meaningful difference to the lives of Indigenous Australians.
