The motorsport precinct at Eastern Creek is set expand even further with new a permanent indoor motocross stadium to be built alongside Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway.

The $5 million project, to be known as Sydney Indoor MotoX Park, will be an Australian first.

The new 12,000 square metre facility will be large enough to house three separate racetracks, that will all be able to be operated independently of each other to cater for different levels of rider.

Sydney Indoor MotoX Park will also have stadium style seating to cater for up to 6,000 spectators. With additional services including a cafe, retail outlet, onsite mechanic and medical.

The project is the brainchild of lifelong dirt bike rider and motocross fan, Matt Bartolo.

“If you live in the Western Sydney corridor from Parramatta through to Penrith, you can drive for up to two hours before you find somewhere suitable to ride,” Mattew Bartolo explained.

“Sydney Indoor MotoX Park will give riders a facility to ride in at any time of day or night and in any weather condition. Riders can bring their bike or hire one of our bikes and full safety equipment on-site.

“A rider can finish work, grab their bike and within 15 minutes of where they live, have dinner at our cafe, have a ride and be home by 9pm.

“The dome it is housed in is revolutionary and the first of its kind and size to come to Australia. We’ll have engineers come from the US to construct it”

Founder and Managing Director of Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway, Garry Holt, couldn’t be more excited about the transformation of his facility.

“Two and four wheel enthusiasts now have a home day and night, seven days a week right on the M7/M4 corridor. Changing our name to Sydney Premier Karting Park will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the karting facility and represents the shifting tide of Sydney’s population, which is migrating toward the City of Blacktown on a daily basis.

“The plan for the Sydney Indoor MotoX Park is extremely exciting and something that I am sure will be embraced by motorcyclists from the Central Coast through to the Blue Mountains and beyond.

“We’ve uncovered several of Australia’s best known motorsport exports through the hire karts at Eastern Creek – and hopefully through Mattew we can uncover the next Chad Reed at Sydney Indoor MotoX Park!”

Builders of the park are endeavouring to have it open in line with the 20th anniversary of Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway, which will see the karting facility rebranded as the Sydney Premier Karting Park, inline with recent name changes to Sydney Motorsport Park (formerly Eastern Creek Raceway) and Sydney Dragway (formerly Western Sydney International Dragway).
