SEBASTIAN VETTEL SETS PACE IN MONACO GP PRACTICE

Sebastian Vettel has set the early pace for this weekends Formula 1 Monaco GP with a 1:12.720 lap during the second practice session overnight.

Vettel took advantage of the the ultra soft tyre on his Ferrari to drop into the 12’s for the first time on the race’s history.

Aussie, Daniel Riccardo was second fastest with a 1:13.207 for Red Bull, splitting to the two Ferrari’s at the top of the time sheets at the end of FP2.

Williams F1’s Lance Stroll caused the only interruption for the two practice sessions, crashing out of second practice session after 36 minutes. The Canadian rookie was unhurt, and the session was restarted after a commendably short five-minute clear up.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton ended the opening practice session fastest with a 1:13.425, ahead of Vettel and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.

On his one off return to Formula 1 for 2017, Jenson Button finished practice is position twelve, ending up a fraction off the pace of rookie team mate Stoffel Vandoorne.
