HABER READY TO TAKE ON EUROPE

By Heath McAlpine

Morgan Haber will contest the European Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series this year with the Leipert Motorsport team.

Haber has most recently driven the MARC BMW M6 GT3 in Australian GT and this year’s Bathurst 12 Hour. Haber is a regular driver in the MARC Cars Australia team in their V8-powered Ford Focus machinery, but previous to that the Queenslander finished runner up in the Kumho V8 Toruing Car Series after starting off in the Australian Suzuki Swift Series.

Haber will drive a Lamborghini Huracan LP 620-2 Super Trofeo in Europe with the season taking in circuits including Silverstone, Monza, Spa and the Nurburgring. The car is similar to a GT3 car, but is not struck down by BOP unlike the GT3, so it is good for 600BHP.

Haber will share the car with Polish driver Jan Kisiel, who won the Audi TT Cup in 2015 and competed successfully in Asian Audi R8 LMS Cup last year.

“I’m very excited to announce that I will be racing in the European Lamborghini Super Trofeo series this year with Leipert Motorsport,” said Haber via Facebook.

“I’ll get my first taste of the car today at Monza and can’t wait for the race next week.”

Leipert Motorsport have teams in Asia as well, with one of the drivers being fellow Australian Ben Gersekowski.

The first race is set to take place at Monza on April 21-23.
