NEW LOOK AND NEW FACES AT GRM

By Heath McAlpine

THERE WILL be two new drivers at Wilson Security Racing GRM this season, after the team confirmed its endurance drivers at the team launch in Melbourne on Thursday.

Garth Tander, the team’s new signing, will be joined in the enduros by James Golding, who will run in the team’s third Holden Commodore in a limited number of Wildcard appearances this season.

James Moffat will be joined by newcomer Richard Muscat, who will make his Main Game debut in the #34 Commodore VF.

Team boss Garry Rogers is looking forward to having his drivers on the track after a challenging summer.

“Of course I am disappointed that we couldn’t find a resolution with Volvo that would see us race the S60,” he said, “and this disappointment is more for my people who put so much time and effort to design and build such a competitive car. They should be all very proud of their achievement with what they did in such a short period of time with the Volvo.”

Golding, known within the team as ‘Bieber’, reminds his team boss of Tander, who joined GRM as a V8 Supercar rookie 19 years ago.

“I certainly see similarities between Bieber and Garth in his younger years. I am sure that if he keeps his eyes and ears open Bieber will learn a lot from Garth throughout the season.”
