In the latest issue of Auto Action on sale now we report that Jack Doohan will spend more than 100 days in a kart in 2017 as he chases his grand prix dream in Europe.

The two-time Australian champion is doing a full program in the OKJ class in major events leading up to the world championship.
The son of five-times MotoGP world champion Mick Doohan is only 14 but has a clear focus on advancing all the way to F1.

“I want to try and be world champion,” Doohan tells Auto Action.

He has already made a number of overseas forays including a trip to last year’s world titles in the Middle East.

His program for 2017 is built around a Fernando Alonso kart run by Ricky Flynn Motorsport, a British team that was recommended to the Doohans by a number of people including Jos Verstappen, father of F1 wonder boy Max.

To assist with his motorsport ambitions, the whole Doohan family is moving to France for the year and Mick will commute back-and-forwards to keep an eye on his Australian business interests including a booming aviation division.
