IT’S THE BRAY SHOW AT SANTO’S SUMMER OF THUNDER

By Auto Action

Victor Bray returned to Sydney Dragway in spectacular style in his Gulf Western sponsored Top Door Slammer, but it was son Ben who took home the bacon.

The Brays were competing in one of the most spectacular days of racing seen in Australia for some time.
The one day, 3 Round format which saw all cars return to race with no eliminations, proved to be a winner with the Sydney crowd, the event attracting a big attendance for the one day race meet.

In the final round it was Victor paired against his son, Ben, in an all Gulf Western Oil final round. Ben emerged the victor with the quickest elapsed time of the day, a 5.83, in the final.
Top Door Slammer Championship leader Mark Belleri fantastic run of wins was ended when his AC Delco sponsored Monaro took a hard right in the second round of racing against Geoff Gradden. The car glanced the wall – disqualifying him immediately and ending his streak of round wins at 10, dating back to the 2016 Winternationals at Willowbank.
