About Auto Action

In 1971, Australian motor racing fans found a new way to find out what was happening in the sport – Auto Action was born.

Every second Thursday they could read what happened on the track, as well as learn what behind-the-scenes decisions made the sport what it was. A group of the country’s best reporters and photographers brought motor racing to the fans, from around the land, and across the seas.

For more than 40 years ‘AA’ was the sport’s most respected masthead – and in 2016, it returned, with independent ownership, to its traditional fortnightly, tabloid format.

Times and technology have changed but Auto Action remains the standard-bearer for motorsport publishing Down Under.
